Sexualised/Objectified female (advertisement)
This is a Tom Ford aftershave advert, specifically aimed at men. It says that it is aimed at men and the contents of the advert also suggest this. The women's breasts are obviously aimed at attracting men, this makes the advert very sexual. They look to attract men specifically, as the typical convention to attract men is to have women showing flesh. The light effect shows that the skin has been oiled up which adds to an already sexual atmosphere. The fact that she is also wearing red nails also adds to the sexual atmosphere in the advert, red is a colour that is often associated with danger and seduction, and the woman is covering her breasts but in a manner that suggests sexual connotations. This would be appealing to some men as it would catch the eye and they generally enjoy women exposing themselves. The positioning of the aftershave bottle is right between her breasts. this is to emphasise that the product is what this advert is about and it also makes it the main focal point of the advert.
